Strategic objectives
SORA sees itself as a national network and central point of contact for rheumatologists and other doctors for all questions relating to osteoporosis.

SORA’s goal is to raise awareness and attention for osteoporosis among the medical profession, the general public and politicians.
SORA works closely with professional associations, patient organisations and other national and international partners in the field of osteoporosis.
Financial objectives
SORA is supported by contributions from foundations, industry, insurance companies and donations. This ensures complete independence in all scientific and strategic objectives at all times.
Operational objectives
SORA is actively involved in continuing education and training related to osteoporosis:
Regional workshops for general practitioners and other specialists
A supraregional symposium in St. Urban every two years with renowned national and international speakers
Training courses for medical practice assistants and medical technical radiology assistants on the correct performance of DXA measurements
Support for doctors with their own DXA devices in quality assurance and evaluation (e.g. calculation of the least significant change, cross-calibration)

In addition, since 2015, SORA has been operating a nationwide osteoporosis registry with prospective data as a basis for scientific and clinical analyses.
